Yahya Agha Khani, MD, FRCPC

Neurologist | Epileptologist

Dr. Aghakhani is a board-certified neurologist with subspecialty in epilepsy and electroencephalography (EEG).  He graduated from Isfahan University of Medical Sciences in Iran in 1990 and did his neurology residency in the same University followed by Iranian National Board of Neurology Certification in 1995.  After 5 years of practicing as a general neurologist with an academic position at the University of Medical Sciences in Ahwaz-Iran, he had training in epilepsy at Montréal Neurological Institute and hospital between December 2000 and September 2003. He has become a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada after passing Canadian Neurology Board Certification in 2009. He practiced in Winnipeg-Manitoba with an academic position Between May 2004 and February 2012, then he moved to Calgary where he practiced in the Calgary comprehensive epilepsy program until September 2018 when he moved to province of British Colombia. He is currently currently Clinical Associate Professor of Neurology and director of the epilepsy program as well as medical director of the EEG lab in Vancouver General Hospital. 

 

Edris Haghir, MD, MPH, FRCPC

Neurologist | Epileptologist

Dr. Haghir is a board-certified neurologist with subspecialty training in epilepsy and electroencephalography (EEG). He earned his medical degree in Iran and completed his Adult Neurology residency at the University of Saskatchewan, where he also obtained a Master of Public Health (MPH).
He then pursued a Clinical Fellowship in Epilepsy and EEG at the University of British Columbia, gaining advanced expertise in seizure disorders and neurodiagnostic techniques.
As a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (FRCPC), Dr. Haghir is committed to delivering expert, patient-centered care for adults with a broad range of neurological conditions, with a particular focus on the diagnosis and management of seizures and complex epilepsy. By integrating advanced neurodiagnostic tools with the latest evidence-based treatments, Dr. Haghir provides personalized care tailored to each patient’s unique needs.
Fluent in English and Farsi (Persian), Dr. Haghir values clear, compassionate communication and strives to foster a welcoming, inclusive environment for patients of all cultural backgrounds. Outside of medicine, he enjoys music, photography, and hiking British Columbia’s scenic trails.
Dr. Haghir is currently accepting new adult neurology referrals at Lonsdale Square Medical Clinic.

Bahrani  MD, FRCPC

Dermatologist

Dr. Bahrani  is a board-certified dermatologist in both Canada and the United States. Dr. Bahrani is a fellow of the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada, and a member of the Canadian Dermatology Association and American Academy of Dermatology. 

She is originally from Saskatoon and completed her Bachelor’s degree and Medical degree from the University of Saskatchewan. She completed her dermatology residency training at the University of Toronto, where she served as a Chief Resident. Dr. Bahrani has additional interests and expertise in complex medical dermatology including autoimmune blistering diseases. She previously practiced as a Clinical Assistant Professor at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. She is currently a Clinical Assistant Professor at the Department of Dermatology and Skin Science at the University of British Columbia and works at St. Paul’s Hospital in Vancouver. Her philosophy in dermatology is to practice holistic patient-centered care. She works together with patients to come up with treatment plans that are unique to them and take into consideration their preferences, values, and beliefs.

Mahin Rahmati,

Pharmacist

Mahin is a  fully qualified pharmacist with over 30 years experience. She had her doctoral degree in Pharmacy from faculty of Pharmacy, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, Iran in 1991. She practiced as community pharmacy in Iran until December 2000. She completed her qualification in Canada in 2010 and since been practicing as community pharmacy. She has several extra certifications including:

  1.  Sterile and non-sterile compounding
  2. Canadian Diabetes Educator
  3. OAT
  4. Administering injections and immunizations 
  5. Certification in Geriatric Pharmacy (CGP)
